Welcome to the hub with back-to-school information!

A note from Superintendent Stutting

As we prepare to welcome our Lancers back into our hallways, I am filled with anticipation for the energy, laughter, and incredible accomplishments this upcoming school year will bring. We are stepping into a dynamic year ahead—one where we will navigate new Iowa legislative updates, build upon the momentum of year two of our strategic plan, enjoy enhanced safety with new fencing projects, and introduce a streamlined, all-in-one communication tool to keep our families connected.

Looking to the horizon, this upcoming year holds deep personal meaning for me, as it will be my final year as your superintendent. Reflecting on the past 13 years at North Scott, I feel immensely grateful and lucky to have been part of such an extraordinary staff, supportive community, and outstanding district, and my focus remains entirely on celebrating our students and making this next chapter our very best one yet!

Warmly,

Joe Stutting, Superintendent, North Scott Community School District

Character Strong

Character Strong curriculum

One of the aims at our school is to equip young people for all the realities of today’s world. With that in mind, we have partnered with CharacterStrong– an organization that provides training for educators and curricula for students.

This curriculum was created to support school communities as they engage in the work of preparing young people to thrive in the 21st century. The research supports the effectiveness of this content to increase student’s academic success and college & career readiness. The lessons focus on developing skills and mindsets around building positive habits, understanding our emotions, improving teamwork, and increasing empathy.
