Back-to-School Hub

A note from Superintendent Stutting

On behalf of all our principals, directors, and myself, I extend a heartfelt welcome back to school for the 2025-2026 academic year. We hope you've all enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating break, and we are eagerly anticipating the energy and enthusiasm you will bring back to our classrooms and hallways.

This new school year brings fresh opportunities for growth, discovery, and connection. Our dedicated team has diligently prepared our buildings and programs, ensuring every student has a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment to learn and thrive. We are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

We are particularly excited many new endeavors!  We will fully launch CharacterStrong across all our schools this year. This comprehensive program will empower our students with essential social-emotional and character skills, helping them develop into compassionate, responsible, and resilient individuals. You'll hear more about CharacterStrong, including our new monthly grade-level newsletters for families, as the year progresses! Additionally, we are thrilled to introduce our new Math curriculum, designed to engage students with innovative approaches and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts. Lastly, our new Breakfast and Lunch Menus will be provided by My School Menu powered by Health- e Pro!

Our strength lies in our strong community partnerships. We deeply value the collaboration between our schools, families, and the wider North Scott community. Your involvement and support are crucial to our students' success, and we encourage you to stay connected, engage with school activities, and communicate openly with our staff.

Here's to a year filled with remarkable achievements, meaningful connections, and countless moments of growth. We can't wait to see all the incredible things our Lancers will accomplish!

Warmly,

Joe Stutting Superintendent, North Scott Community School District

GO LANCERS!

Important Community Alert:

Roadwork on 1st Street

city construction for August and September 2025 on 1st street

Please be aware of ongoing roadwork on 1st Street, which may impact travel to school events and buildings in Eldridge, particularly as the new school year approaches. The city and its contractors are currently completing cold in-place pavement work, and temporary centerline striping will be finished  tomorrow, Friday, August 8th, around noon.

Upcoming Asphalt Overlay and Potential Delays:

The newly paved road needs about two weeks to cure. This means the asphalt contractor anticipates beginning the final asphalt overlay work around

Impact on School Events and Daily Commutes:

  • Bus Routes: The school district is working with the city to re-route some buses for the first couple of weeks of school to avoid 1st Street as much as possible.

What You Can Do:

We strongly encourage all parents, staff, and students to plan for potential delays and consider alternative routes when traveling to school events and buildings. Allow extra time to ensure you arrive at your destination on time.

We'll be updating our website and socials to make sure you have the most updated information as we receive it. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as the City of Eldridge works to improve our community's infrastructure

Character Strong

Character Strong curriculum

One of the aims at our school is to equip young people for all the realities of today’s world. With that in mind, we have partnered with CharacterStrong– an organization that provides training for educators and curricula for students.

This curriculum was created to support school communities as they engage in the work of preparing young people to thrive in the 21st century. The research supports the effectiveness of this content to increase student’s academic success and college & career readiness. The lessons focus on developing skills and mindsets around building positive habits, understanding our emotions, improving teamwork, and increasing empathy.
