2018-19 School Year

August 15, 2018

Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year

As summer is coming to a close, I know our students, parents, and staff are getting excited for another school year to begin. I am sure most of you are like me and wonder where the summer went.  We are blessed to live in a community where education is highly valued and supported by all. As always, it is a privilege to be able to serve the North Scott Community School District as superintendent of schools.

We have had a very busy summer getting ready for the start of school. The high school auditorium has been remodeled and we are very excited to show the auditorium to the entire North Scott Community. All of our buildings have had a number of projects. Neil Armstrong has new landscaping in front of the building, John Glenn’s hallways have been updated, all of our elementaries had security cameras added. These projects represent just a few of the many projects completed this summer.  I would like to thank the maintenance and custodial staff for doing a great job getting everything ready for the start of the school year.

Our district continues to focus on improving its curriculum and offerings to students. We had a large number of staff working on curriculum this summer. I appreciate the time our dedicated teachers are willing to put in to improve the education of our students. We have expanded our one-to-one computer per student to the fifth grade, I look forward to seeing how this enhances student learning at the elementary level. Even though our budget is very tight, we continue to work hard at improving every opportunity offered to the students.

The North Scott Community School District is a special place because of the support from all of our communities, parents, and staff. Even though I hold up our facilities and curriculum to any other school district, it is our staff and community that make the difference. I would personally like to thank everyone for being part of North Scott School Community School. I know we will have another great year.

GO LANCERS!

Sincerely,

Joe Stutting

Superintendent of Schools

North Scott Community School District
