KWQC's Fran Riley Feature on North Scott High School Art Department

February 23, 2016

The North Scott High School Art Department had a great visit with Fran Riley from news station KWQC TV-6 today and he talked with many of our mixed media students from last semester and current drawing one students.

His main focus was on book art. He saw some of our students work from the Festival of Trees and asked if he could come visit. We discussed how we have art at Festival of Trees, a K-12 district wide art show at the Scott County Library in Eldridge, the mural design of Martin Luther King, the pastel competition piece and in April will have artwork at the Quad City Arts Gallery in Rock Island.  In May, we will be down at the Bucktown Center for the Arts for the pastel competition again. We hope to have students involve in Metro Arts over the summer again also. They taped a lot of the students working in class and then did individual interviews after class.
