Meet: Amy Guerrero, Food Services Director

The nutritional needs of our students has always been a top priority within the North Scott Community School District because it helps create an appropriate environment for the learning that occurs throughout the day. Our food service department takes this responsibility seriously and is committed to providing a selection of quality, healthy foods that to nourish students and prepare them to learn.

Amy is a member of the Iowa School Nutrition Association and is  to committed to advancing the quality of school meal programs through education and advocacy.

Meet Karen Apple, our dedicated Food Services Administrative Assistant. A proud alum of North Scott High School, Karen brings a personal touch and deep understanding of our community to the role. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring every student has access to nutritious meals, Karen plays a vital part in coordinating our district’s food services. Her commitment to excellence and her personal connection to the district make her an invaluable member of our team.

Introducing Lisa Brunning, our talented Kitchen Manager who oversees the kitchens at both the junior high and high school. With expertise in menu planning and a commitment to healthy, delicious meals, Lisa ensures that every student receives nutritious options every day. Her ability to manage multiple locations with efficiency and care makes Lisa an essential part of our school community.

The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act requires the information on this application. You do not have to give the information, but if you do not, we cannot approve your child for free or reduced price meals. You must include the last four digits of the social security number of the adult household member who signs the application. The last four digits of the social security number is not required when you apply on behalf of a foster child or you list a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) case number or other FDPIR identifier for your child or when you indicate that the adult household member signing the application does not have a social security number. We will use your information to determine if your child is eligible for free or reduced price meals, and for administration and enforcement of the lunch and breakfast programs. We MAY share your eligibility information with education, health, and nutrition programs to help them evaluate, fund, or determine benefits for their programs, auditors for program reviews, and law enforcement officials to help them look into violations of program rules.
