Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

To provide the best possible education to all of our students, we view curriculum, instruction and assessment as equally essential. Curriculum is the content we teach, and aligned with state standards. Instruction is strategies and practices of the teaching staff as they provide high quality education in the classroom. Assessments determine the level of proficiency our students are achieving in the short and long term. The district is committed to using resources and partnerships to build a strong educational environment for ALL North Scott students. Currently, the district is partnering with the University of Northern Iowa, the New Teacher Center and the Mississippi Bend AEA to train teacher leaders hired through the Teacher Leadership Compensation Funding from the state. These teacher leaders work closely with staff to develop strong curriculum, instruction and assessments in each content area.
